Hello everyone. You’ve likely seen the reports of recent COVID outbreaks in India and other locations around the world.
Several of my colleagues and I have spent time in these places, helping our brothers and sisters in Christ with their Bible translation efforts. These news reports really hit home for us. These are our friends and partners, and they are experiencing all the things that we’re seeing in the news.
You can no doubt imagine the difficulty that they face.
Here are a couple notes we recently received:
One partner writes, “Every minute we’re getting bad news. Bad news on TV, bad news from church, bad news from family.”
And one of our other colleagues writes, “The threat is like a low hanging cloud. It’s heavy. I’ve lost close friends and family. My 24 year old son is currently in the hospital with complications from COVID. Please pray for us.”
And this is his only son. It’s really tough reading these reports.
Well, here at Wycliffe Associates, we’ve established an Emergency 911 fund to assist our friends who are in situations like this. These are people who have given their lives to translate God’s Word into their heart languages, and in times like these they’re carrying on an additional heavy burden.
We’re already sending funds to help ease that burden, and we’re inviting you to please prayerfully consider joining us as we help by sending a gift to our Emergency 911 fund. Together we can lift up and encourage those who are struggling.
So thank you, and God bless.
