Technology has the potential to radically empower our brothers and sisters who are at work translating God’s Word in some of the most remote, difficult places on Earth.

Some have been rejected by their own families because they decided to follow Jesus. Some have suffered violence. Most have known persecution of one kind or another.

Yet they are ready to face every hazard, trusting God to help them overcome every obstacle, doing whatever it takes to translate God’s Word for their people.

They ask for the tools and training to bring God’s Word to life in languages where it has never existed before.

Faith Under Fire

Here’s one example of a believer and national Bible translator in East Africa living under intense pressure. He recently sent us this message.

“I have become a Christian. I have not yet shared this openly. I’ve known a few Christians—one was shot, and another severely burned when hot oil was poured over her. Even in the face of such violence, believers here continue to pray for protection, for healing, and for courage.

“Many of us long to follow Christ, but we live in fear. Some of our Muslim brothers have openly threatened to kill anyone who leaves Islam. Still, I now work alongside my friends, helping translate the Bible into the Darfur language so more people can hear the message of God’s love in the language of their hearts.

“Thank you for supporting this translation work. Your prayers and partnership are bringing hope and salvation to people like me. Please continue to pray for us and for peace in Sudan.”

One size does not fit all

In the work of Bible translation, one size doesn’t fit all.

For the believers we serve, their needs are as unique as the language they speak. So instead of dropping a “kit” into their laps... we work to identify the exact mix of tools they need to accelerate their efforts:

  • A complete tech kit, including a computer tailored to their specific needs
  • Comprehensive training with specialized technology
  • Bible translation software and resources
  • Internet connection for safely storing their work
  • Basic support while the work is going on
  • And more—whatever need they have!

How Technology (and YOU) fit into the process of Bible translation

One thing we’ve learned in Bible translation technology efforts is that an astonishing—and eternal—miracle happens. A miracle in motion...

It’s never just one life that’s radically transformed! Here’s how it works:

  1. A person in East Africa has never seen a verse of Scripture in their own heart language.
  2. A person like you gives a gift of Christlike compassion for national Bible translation technology.
  3. The national Bible translator in East Africa begins to translate the Scriptures. The person in the village is STUNNED to encounter God’s Word so powerfully, so intimately, for the first time ever.
  4. The joyous Truth is SHARED in homes, at weddings and funerals, at wells and watering holes, and anyplace people come together.
  5. So many people experience NEW LIFE in Christ... so many are transformed by the Truth... A CHURCH IS BORN.
  6. Entire churches reach others from neighboring villages, and the message expands.
  7. Multiple churches spring up in multiple communities.

How YOU can help now

We’ve identified multiple language groups in East Africa that need technology support to help national Bible translators complete their work so they can share copies of God’s Word with their people.

For some groups, they need a rugged computer that’s loaded with Bible translation software. Others need remote access with a satellite internet connection. And still others need 24/7 support and specialized training.

But to provide the 33 technology kits to those who are working tirelessly on Bible translation, we need to raise $82,500 as soon as possible.

Can you help by giving a generous gift now?

Whatever you feel led to give, your generosity now will be a game-changer for national Bible translators.
