This morning, I make the next leg of my journey to Fukatabe as I fly from Cairns, Australia to Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. On Monday, I fly from Port Moresby to Ukarumpa. On Tuesday, from Ukarumpa to Fukatabe.

The latest word from Fukatabe is that there is a serious spiritual battle underway. The church is under attack. Neil has sent reconnaissance reports back to me advising that we should be prepared to do battle. The enemy of our souls is attempting to destroy real people.

So ... what may have at first appeared to be a simple technological deployment upon closer examination will more likely be a raging spiritual battle. In preparation, I've been praying through Ephesians 6:10-20, checking my armor, and grasping the sword of the Spirit—which is the Word of God.

As Paul wrote in Ephesians 6:18, "And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints."

I invite you to pray for the saints in Fukatabe who are under attack. Pray especially for Pastor Paul and his wife Rebecca. Pray for Oliver, Boaz, and Tom—members of the translation team. Pray for Neil, for me, and for my son-in-law Heath as we join the battle.

Next update will be from the front line.
