MAST workshops bring new hope to three people groups in the Solomon Islands.
Through your generosity, God is raising up translators in the Solomon Islands and bringing His long-awaited Word to people in need of truth and hope.
They came long distances by boat, leaving their families behind. But these eager participants of a MAST (Mobilized Assistance Supporting Translation) workshop in the Solomon Islands knew it would be worth it. They were right. By the conclusion of the workshop, they had received a double blessing...
First, these determined brothers and sisters, representing three language groups, were rewarded with significant portions of the Scriptures translated in their heart languages. They could finally read God’s Word clearly in words they understand! Secondly, they were able to take these translated Scriptures back to their communities.
After receiving a printed copy of the newly translated Word, one beaming participant said, “This is the first Scripture ever printed in my language!”
Another participant, a pastor, felt the full weight of what God had accomplished through them. “A translation was started years ago in our language, but there is nothing to show for all the effort,” he said. “Now we will return to our islands with Scripture we can use. I’m so happy!”
“Let them give glory to the Lord and proclaim His praise in the islands.” Isaiah 42:12 (NIV)
