One surprised translator is thrilled to be used by God.
Along with 49 other translators at a recent MAST workshop, Mary helped translate nearly one-third of the New Testament in just 10 days.
“Can you believe it?” Mary asked excitedly as she handed over her translation work at a recent MAST workshop. “I completed an entire chapter!”
Mary was ecstatic. She had a right to be. Growing up as an orphan on the streets of Namibia, Mary had endured considerable hardship and only attended school for two years. Yet in the midst of her suffering, God had blessed her to be able to read and understand English, a valuable tool for Bible translators because much of the translation materials are in English. When interviewed, Mary and her team had translated 58 percent of the New Testament into their Chisubiya heart language.
What a beautiful illustration of how God is involving people of all backgrounds to carry out His work of Bible translation. That includes you! Thank you for your willingness to be used of God, so those without Scripture in their own language will have it one day soon.
